Learning Difficulties

LD: A learning disability is a neurological condition that interferes with an individual's ability to store, process, or produce information.

Learning disabilities can affect one's ability to read, write, speak, spell, compute math, reason and also affect an individual's attention, memory, coordination, social skills and emotional maturity.

Types

  • Dyslexia - disorder affecting reading
  • Dysgraphia - disorder affecting handwriting
  • Dyscalculia - disorder affecting mathematical reasoning & calculations.

Symptoms

  • Mild delay in gross motor development
  • Difficulties in fine motor development
  • Delay in speech development
  • Inability to recognize separate distinct sound in a word - phonetic awareness.
  • Inability to repeat same sound word.

Remedy

  • Early Diagnosis with early intervention
  • Regular Therapy. (OT, PT, ST, BM)
  • Counseling. (Family, Parent, Child)
  • Normal Schooling with Remedial Education or NIOS Schooling

Admission Criteria

Academy through psycho educational tests.

the child's IQ is in the range of 71 to 100 with learning difficulties, children can take admissions at Connect Academy through psycho educational tests.
